Kids korner hosted by the Central Queens Y (108 Street and 67th) does bus pickup from PS 499 and several other schools in Forest Hills. There are a few Chinese Afterschool programs in Flushing that will pickup your child but I'm not familiar with any of them. One of my daughter's classmate goes to one though.

Welcome to 499! My daughter will also be starting kindergarten in September. She'll be in Ms. Schiarra's class so maybe they'll be classmates too.

Hi J,

Thanks for your reply. Great to know your daughter will be starting Kindergarten too. I think I will take a drive around school and look for after school programs on the road but I will need bussing. How do you find out which class the child will be going to?

Thanks

Hi, my 3 kids go to the same after school program, called Best Prep Academy. There are 3 levels of the after school program. They pick up from 499 and drop off at home around 6:30pm. They help with himework and have Zumba classes on Thursdays and Tae Kwon Do classes on Fridays. The after school program is held in PS 122 on Sanford Ave. Here is the website with more info

Hi Karen and J,

Thank you for your recommendation, my daughter goes to best prep for afterschool and has one of her classmates going with her. And she is also in Ms. Shirata's class, so J your daughter and my daughter are classmates.
