Dear Middle School Parents and Guardians,
My name is David DiTrapani, and I am the new Site Director for the QCH After-School Program here at P.S. / I.S. 499. I’m happy to be working with your students, and I’m looking forward to a great school year!
I have received a couple of emails regarding a parent orientation with an errant day and date. Please note that we will not be hosting a parent orientation tonight (9/19) or tomorrow (9/20). Instead, we will be hosting our parent orientation next Tuesday during Family Night, which will be held from 4:30 PM to 7:30 PM. If your child is attending QCH After-School, please make sure you attend one of the mandatory information sessions during that timeframe.
If you have any questions or concerns, please always feel free to contact me. Email is the best method of reaching me, but you are always able to call the school and ask for the QCH office.

(A message from the Parent Coordinator)
Many families have school supply lists that reflect a $4.00 student planner fee. However, the parent letter sent home last week requests a $3.00 fee for the student planners. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience this error may have caused. The actual cost of the planner is about $4.00 dollars.
Any family that is able to pay the new cost of $4.00 we are asking you to please do so. If there is a family that can only pay the $3.00 this year, we understand. The student planner is an extremely helpful resource for our student’s efforts in staying organized.
Town hall meeting dates and locations for the 2017–18 school year can be found below. Town halls are hosted by Chancellor Fariña in conjunction with the Community Education Council (CEC) and are open to the public. This is an opportunity for your school community to ask questions to Chancellor Fariña and receive additional information about your district. You should review these dates and locations in preparation for the upcoming town hall meetings and share them with your school community.
