Dear 499 Families,
PS/IS 499 is committed to fostering a positive learning environment for our students and families. Our school is focusing on Social Emotional Learning (SEL) in effort to strengthen this work. SEL is a process through which children and adults acquire and apply the knowledge, attitudes and skills necessary to understand and manage emotions. SEL will help our children to become more self-aware, self-manage emotions, develop positive social skills, become responsible decision makers and increase their relationship skills.
Our school’s SEL team meets weekly to plan how to best support students and our school community. As parents, you are valuable partners in this work. We would like to know your family and your child/children’s needs so we can better support you.
Please take a few moments to complete this family SEL survey. Your feedback is invaluable to us!
