Dear new and returning parents of PS/IS 499,
The PS/IS 499 Parent Teacher Association (PTA) welcomes you to a promising new school year! As a PTA, we work collaboratively with parents, staff and administration to support our school through events, fundraisers and volunteer opportunities. Our mission is to make every child’s potential a reality by engaging and empowering families and communities to advocate for all children at our school.
This is your PTA. All parents and guardians of PS/IS 499 students are automatically a part of the PTA. By participating, YOU can make a difference in your child’s education. We encourage you to be the change you want to see in our school community! Here are some ways to help and get involved:
- Join us for PTA events like our first-ever “Back to School Field Day” on Saturday, September 18th, 2-4pm at Cunningham Park. There will be games, raffles and food (for purchase).
- Join our first PTA general meeting on Wednesday, September 22nd at 6pm over Zoom. Each PTA meeting is on the 4th Wednesday of each month where you can participate, get updates, ask questions, and share your ideas or concerns with the school community.
- Volunteer your time with the PTA at school events and in your children’s classrooms. Your children will enjoy sharing their experiences with you, and your help will ensure the success of the school and the PTA as a group!
